Flood Gallery Holiday Fundraiser And Concert
ASHEVILLE -- (December XX, 2007) - Flood Gallery Fine Art Center's ("Flood Gallery") December exhibition and holiday party makes collecting contemporary art easier for everyone this season. Flood Gallery Holiday , an expansive exhibition with an opening reception and concert, on Saturday, December 8 th from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, features the work of Asheville artists and a live musical performance by nationally acclaimed pianist, composer, and educator, Seamus McNerney. Holiday concerts run from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. This event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at the Flood Gallery Fine Art Center located at 109 Roberts Street, Asheville River Arts District (in the Phil Mechanic Building). A portion of the proceeds generated by art sales will benefit the future of Flood Gallery's exhibition, residency, and education programs. "This holiday event was designed for the whole 'Flood' Family, from new comers to old. We just want the Asheville community to gather under one roof and enjoy the spirit of the holidays together," says founding Director Jolene Mechanic.
The Flood Gallery Holiday exhibition will feature affordable art by Julie Covington, Ursula Gullow, Luke Haynes, Michael Hoffman, Alena Hennessy, Nava Lubelski, Sean Pace, Taiyo La Paix, Brooke Priddy, Richmond Smith, Lisa Ringlespaugh-Irvine, Matt Waldrop, and more. Price tags will range from $20 to $500, making it easier to collect your favorite artists or simply to give friends, family, or loved ones a one of a kind gift.
All Phil Mechanic Studios will be open during the Flood Gallery Holiday party and the work of Peter Gentling, retired physician of Asheville, will be on view in the Pump Gallery November 30 th through December 31 st , 2007.
