As told by the artists:
“BOMTREE is Tom and Bree Burchinal.
Early into their relationship, more specifically, before their third date, Bree looked Tom up on Spotify and found an old Grey Gary record.
Growing up, she’d spent years singing with her dad. So when she heard Tom’s voice, she instinctively began weaving her own around it.
On this third date, she cautiously said, “I’m hearing harmonies on a couple of your songs…” hoping it wouldn’t come across as criticism.
As luck would have it, Tom had a recording setup ready to go.
“Really? I’d love to hear what you’re hearing.” He hit record and started playing.
Neither of them had rehearsed. They stumbled over a few lyrics, sure, but somewhere in the middle of that first take, Tom realized something extraordinary was happening. He remembers thinking: “Don’t mess this up.”
They didn’t know it then, but looking back now, they made their first recording as the BOMTREE collaboration.
It would take more than a decade for life to catch up with that moment.
After years spent building a family, weathering life’s harder seasons, and slowly making room for music again, BOMTREE was finally born.”
