World Cinema: Foreign Film Fridays
January 31 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
FreeEvery Friday we’ll be having a cozy movie night in the gallery featuring some amazing foreign films curated by our very own film-buff Carlos Steward!
January 31st we’ll be watching Chris Marker’s 1983 Japanese/French film Sans Soleil (103m)! “This experimental film by acclaimed French director Chris Marker collects footage recorded in various countries around the world and presents it in collage-like form. The movie features no synchronized sound, but instead ties the various segments together with music and voice-over narration, which ponders the topics such as memory, technology and society. As the scenes shift, locations range from Japan to Iceland to Africa, creating a truly international work.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-IrnrqOuVo4
The movie starts at 7PM sharp; B.Y.O. snacks/drinks!
