Anything Goes…Everything Shows!

Uncensored, free-style mail art show using the postal system as medium.

Based on Dada/Fluxus movements, such as practiced by Ray Johnson from Black Mountain College, mail art is accessible, tangible, unbound, and mocks the pompous art establishment. Entries range from illustrated letters, collages, artist stamps & trading cards, mail interviews, social activism & commentary, experimental, traditional or pop art, to found 3D objects. ALL submissions are exhibited! Through March 18, 2023

ENTRIES: MUST use PO address. NON-RETURNABLE. No entry fee (just mailing cost). Not for sale. NO hand deliveries. Best postmark by Jan 21 for opening, but keep sending them! If we receive by the opening, we will display them; subsequent entries received will exhibit through show run.

Mission

The Flood Gallery Fine Art Center is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the arts in Asheville through the exhibition of established and emerging artists from all over the world. Through artist-residency programs, public events and workshops, and educational activities, Flood Gallery seeks to make art a vital and important part of life in Asheville.
