31st Annual Twin Rivers Media Film Festival

Screening award-winning, independent films from local, national and international filmmakers and artists! Categories include Animation, Experimental, Short Drama, Documentary, Feature, Anti-war, AI, plus Experimental Music and a special Asheville category!
Kickoff begins Friday with a full-length feature film winner and continues Saturday and Sunday with back-to-back films and performances throughout the day.

Banned in Spain and denounced by the Vatican upon its premiere, Luis Buñuel’s irreverent vision of life as a beggar’s banquet is regarded by many as his masterpiece. In it, novice nun Viridiana (Silvia Pinal) does her utmost to maintain her Catholic principles, but her lecherous uncle (Fernando Rey) and a motley assemblage of paupers force her to confront the limits of her idealism. Winner of the Palme d’Or at the 1961 Cannes Film Festival, Viridiana is as audacious today as ever.

The Flood Gallery Fine Art Center is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to promoting the arts in Asheville through the exhibition of established and emerging artists from all over the world. Through artist-residency programs, public events and workshops, and educational activities, Flood Gallery seeks to make art a vital and important part of life in Asheville.
