Tom Johanson & the Feel Good Unity Band Live at the Flood!

Come join us for an evening of groovy music with the Feel Good Unity Band & Friends!

Light refreshments. Admission by open donation.

Tom Johanson has been playing guitar in bands and solo for 50 years. He began his career in the early 60s, playing with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Paul Butterfield, Jose Feliciano, Richie Havens, and many other inhabitants of the East Village in NYC. His band, The Fugitives, was the first rock band signed to Columbia Records, and had several hits on the charts in NY in the 1960s. Tom describes his music as “folk flamenco jazz rock and psychedelic surf rock pop”.

Now Tom has been playing with the Feel Good Unity Band in Asheville the last 10 years, along with changing members, including musicians Pope McElvy and Robert Acres. “Taumi Swami” has been a regular performer at the Flood Gallery’s weekly True Home Open Mic for almost as long! The Feel Good Unity Band plays a mix of originals and old classics, but always inspirational and feel-good!
